🥘 Ingredients
4 pcs Easy Eats GG fillet (tinapa)
4 cups water
20 g ginger, thinly sliced
1 big tomato, quartered
1 medium red onion, sliced
60 g squash, cut into small cubes
2 pcs string beans, cut into 2-inch lengths
1 pc eggplant, sliced
5 pcs okra, cut in half
1 bundle talbos ng kamote (sweet potato tops)
1 bundle talbos ng saluyot
👩🍳 How to Cook
1. Prepare the broth – In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil. Add the tinapa fillet and ginger slices. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to release the smoky flavor.
2. Build the base – Add the onions and tomatoes. Simmer until softened, allowing their sweetness to blend into the broth.
3. Cook the vegetables – Add squash, string beans, eggplant, and okra. Cook until just tender but not mushy.
4. Add the greens – Stir in talbos ng kamote and saluyot last. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until wilted.
5. Taste & serve – Season lightly with salt or fish sauce and ground pepper (optional, since tinapa already provides flavor). Serve hot and enjoy with steamed rice.
✨ Tip: Don’t overcook the vegetables — the charm of laswa is in its freshness and natural sweetness, balanced with the smoky aroma of tinapa.
